We are delighted to announce that Visit Britain – the UK’s national tourism agency – has given Wild Place Project the ‘We’re Good to Go’ accreditation.
‘We’re Good to Go’ is a new UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark showing that Wild Place safe to visit during the coronavirus pandemic.
It is designed to provide a ‘ring of confidence’ for attractions as well as reassurance to local residents and visitors that clear processes are in place.
To keep staff and visitors safe, we have worked hard to ensure that Wild Place Project is compliant with the latest government and public health guidance.
Like all visitor attractions across the UK, we’ve had to make changes. But don’t worry, you’ll still be able to see all the animals you know and love!
From the online booking system to social distancing and handwashing facilities, find out about the changes that show ‘We’re Good to Go’.
Before you visit
All ticket bookings now take place online, and we do not accept payment on the gate.
Everyone needs to book a time slot, including annual pass holders, members, under-2s and carers.
This allows us to stagger arrival times and to minimise and carefully manage any potential queues at the entrance.
On site we have introduced a one-way system, with clear signage to aid social distancing.
We have also greatly reduced our maximum capacity, meaning we let far fewer guests enter the site each day in comparison to last year.
Both of these measures help to manage the flow of people around Wild Place, reducing crowding and helping everyone to keep a safe distance.
Our new site rules are available for everyone to follow during their visit, to ensure the safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers.
We have temporarily closed areas where social distancing is difficult to implement, or coronavirus is more likely to spread. For example, our indoor animal houses and children’s play areas.
To prevent large groups gathering, we have also paused animal talks and feeds.

Keeping it clean
We have introduced extra toilets and handwashing facilities along the one-way route, to encourage everyone to sanitise regularly.
We have enhanced our cleaning regime and cleaning check, and onsite cleaners ensure that the toilets are kept clean.
Face coverings are now mandatory in all enclosed spaces at Wild Place in line with Government guidance, unless you are exempt by law. These exemptions include children under 11.
Check out the latest guidelines on face coverings on the gov.uk website.
Knowing the risks
We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and have put precautions in place to limit risks as much as possible.
By making changes to your visit, we can offer a fantastic animal adventure with peace of mind.
