Bear Wood Charity Abseil


Join us on Saturday 18th August 2018 for an exciting challenge abseiling 60ft down one of Bristol’s most iconic buildings, the Gardiner Haskins building. Whether you've got a head for heights or want to try something new, challenge yourself by taking the plunge to raise money the Bear Wood appeal. Bear Wood is our exciting new development bringing back lost species to our ancient woodland and protecting wildlife currently under threat.

On the Day

You will enjoy views of the city from the top of the Gardiner Haskins building, before 'going over the top' with our fully trained and experienced instructors. No experience is necessary as our qualified events team will provide full training and support on the day, all you have to do is keep your calm, soak up the views and raise money for a fantastic project.

Family Fun

Make a day of it and bring your friends and family along to cheer you on. We will also be hosting a range of activities; With food from Bristol’s very own Burger Bear, DJ, fundraising games and much more it is set to be a fun-filled day whether you are abseiling or not.

Get involved

There is a £35 registration fee and we ask each abseiler to raise as much money as possible pledging to raise a minimum of £150, which is payable on the day of the event. Everyone who reaches the £150 target will receive a certificate, bear wood wristband and family ticket to Wild Place Project and if you raise over £200 you will receive an exclusive t-shirt. After registering you will be sent an information pack containing everything you need to get you to the sponsorship target.

  • Minimum age for participation is 14 years. Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Participants are required to sign a medical declaration form, which will be sent after registration is complete.
  • Member registrations will be asked for proof of membership or annual pass
